Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Read Fast ("we", "us") helps you save articles, PDFs and videos and turns them into concise AI summaries delivered as an email briefing. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Read Fast you agree to this policy.
What we collect
- Account & contact details: your email address (your login identity) and, if you use the WhatsApp features, your phone number.
- Content you add: the articles, links, documents, PDFs, videos and text you save, plus any notes you write and questions you ask our AI assistant.
- Usage & preferences: your interests, briefing schedule, reading activity, and basic settings.
- Payment information: if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status but never see or store your full card details.
- Basic analytics: privacy-friendly, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. page visits) to understand how the product is used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To provide the core service โ generating summaries, delivering briefings and reminders, answering your questions, and storing your library.
- To operate billing and your subscription.
- To maintain, debug and improve the product.
- To contact you about your account and the service.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
AI processing of your content
To produce summaries and answers, the content you add is sent to the AI providers listed under sub-processors below, who process it to generate your results subject to their own API terms. Please don't upload content you aren't permitted to share, and avoid uploading sensitive personal data.
Sub-processors & services we use
We rely on trusted third parties to run Read Fast. Depending on the features you use, your data may be processed by:
- OpenAI โ summaries, the AI assistant, and document Q&A.
- xAI โ content suggestions (where enabled).
- Firecrawl โ fetching the text of web links you save.
- LlamaIndex / LlamaParse โ extracting text from uploaded PDFs.
- Stripe โ payment and subscription processing.
- Google (Gmail) โ sending briefing and reminder emails.
- Meta (WhatsApp) โ WhatsApp messaging, if you use it.
- Replit โ application hosting and database.
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside your country, including the US.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a document it is removed from our database, and if you ask us to delete your account we will delete your personal data, except where we must retain limited records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
Human access
Your data is not routinely reviewed by people. In rare cases โ such as debugging an error you report โ a team member may need to view some data, solely to operate or fix the service.
How we protect your data
- Data is stored in a secured database and transmitted over encrypted connections.
- Access is limited to what's needed to run the service.
- We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe.
Your rights & choices
- Access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.
- Delete individual documents at any time inside the app.
- Unsubscribe from briefing and reminder emails (reply to ask us to stop, or remove your briefing schedule).
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where the law gives you that right (e.g. UK/EU GDPR, California CCPA).
To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we'll take care of it.
Children
Read Fast is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
